One of our customers asked about how to measure when a window frame is present. The best be for window blinds or window shades in this case is to measure for an outside mount. Installing outside the windows, and above, will allow the frames to be seen and not obstructed. Make sure that the frames will not interfere with the movement of the window treatments, however. If this is a problem, use extension brackets to move the new window shades or blinds out from the wall.

Many customers wonder about how shades will cover the window. Roller shades will have the fabric about 1 1/2 inch narrower than the entire shade because of the control and brackets. If coverage is important, you should order outside mount shades, as much as 4 inches wider will be needed to help.
